Cricket

Games and sports are a source of great amusement. They also develop in us qualities of head and heart. Cricket is a very popular game of our country. It attracts crowds of people to see it.
Last week a thrilling cricket match was piayed between our College and Govt. College. Our college was closed after two periods. Most of the boys went to the stadium to see the match.
 At ten the players got ready and one of the captains tossed in the presence of both umpires.We won the toss and our captain sent them to bat. They put in two of their best players. They scored thirty runs during the initial overs. They had a very good start and were greatly cheered by the on lookers. Our bowlers
turned against Of the batting team. Both the players were bowled out in two consecutive overs. Then the captain with his players tried hard to give a good stand to the team. But our spinners did a great a job and took all  team out at the score of 137. Then there was a lunch break
Now it was our batting turn. Unfortunately, our openers were bowled out only at the score of ten. It was a poor start. The team was under pressured . Then our captain went for batting. He took some quick singles and two to release  the pressure. But he also was out at the total score of 51. 
Then two more wicket fell at the score of 80. Now there were five players more and we had to make fifty seven scores. Both the teams were fighting with full spirit. Our next pair took the score to one hundred and twelve by hard hitting and nice,cuts. But they were caught soon behind the wickets. Now our last pair was-in and we need four scores to win the match. It was an anxious moment.
There was pin-drop silence in the ground. Only a short or a long hit could disturb the match. The opponent team was fielding very well. Our players could get no score at the first two bails of the last over. Then at the third ball our players hit very well and the ball went over the boundary. 
Our team won. There was great joy and excitement. The captain
of losing team congratulated our captain. It was the model of great sportsman spirit. Then everyone went to his home.
