Times (Poem)

For everything there is a season, 
and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die; 
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up; 
a time to weep,and a time to laugh; 
a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 
a time to seek, and a time to lose; 
a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 
a time to tear, and a time to sew; 
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 
a time to love, and a time to hate; 
a time for war, and a time for peace.

Explaination of poem (Tmes)

The poem presents the importance of time. Everything is bound to time. Universal system, life and death, joys and sorrows, sowing and reaping, getting and losing, silence and speech and everything else happens at its fixed time. So, time plays a major role in life. We must be aware of its value This poem shows the major role of time in our lives.
 Everything happens according to its planned course of time. If we try to do something without its proper time it proves fruitless. Everything is a slave of time. Time has a major effect on all the happenings of world. Seasons appear and disappear according to time. The whole universal system runs according to fixed time. Even life and death are bound to time. A person takes birth in time and also dies when his time is over. 
So, time plays a major role in our lives.Everything happens according to its planned course of time. If we try to do something without its proper time it proves fruitless.These lines reflect the impacts of time on various happenings. The poet says that there is time to sow and time to reap. We cannot plant or pluck up without its proper season and time. In the same way, a time to build up and a time to break down is also fixed.
