The reading periods are very tiring. We all huddled together sit into small study rooms. The teachers seem to bent upon pouring outfit all their knowledge. Then the bell rings for the recess period. The happiest period starts. 
The recess period is very short. It last for only half an hour. But it is a period of great rejoicing. All the students wait for it very anxiously As soon as the bell rings for the recess period, the impatient boys rush out of their rooms. Their faces lit with cheerfulness. 
They go out of their rooms like a huge volume of water let loose. There is a great rush in the corridors and compounds of the school. There is a great hue and cry in the school. There is pushing and elbowing . 
Most of the boys play in the school ground. Quite a big crowd is gathered round the tuck shop. They take some refreshment.Others go to the fruit shop to buy oranges, apples, bananas and dry fruit. Some boys take their lunch in the grassy lawn. Some gossip with their friends. 
Some boys copy their home work for the exercise books of their friends. A few go to the library and read newspapers and magazines. Some go to the school mosque and say their mid-day prayer.As regards teachers, they too enjoy this period. 
They go to the staff room and take rest. They gossip, laugh and discuss with one another. 
Some consider it a time for rest and relaxationt. At last the time is over. The bell rings and all the students pour in.There is once again silence in the school. The students as well as teachers are fresh to start the work.
