He was puffed with pride to see his grey shining antlers. One day he went to a clear stream to drink water. As he was drinking, he saw his reflection. First he looked at his antlers and was captivated by their beauty, he forgot his thirst and began admiring them. Then he looked at his legs. They were thin, weak and ugly. He became sad and thought, “What a pair of ugly legs I have!” <br />He was absorbed in these thoughts when he heard voices of the barking hounds. To save his life, he sprang up and very soon he was at a safe distance. He consoled himself by. saying, “Now I am safe in these thick bushes, the hounds will never find me." <br />But the hounds had not lost his scent. They chased him and reached the bushes where he had hidden himself. He jumped for his life but fell back. His antlers had been caught in a bush. He struggled very hard to release them but in vain. He realized that his ugly legs helped him, but beautiful antlers became the cause-of distress. He flew 9 here and there in search of water. But he could not get | even a single drop of water in spite of his best efforts'. At 9 last, he flew into a garden. He was very happy to find a jug 1 of water there. He went to it but was disappointed to see •] that the water level was very low. His beak could not reach it. For a moment, he. became very upset. But he did not lose heart. He began to think how he could satisfy his - j thirst. <br />Soon he thought of a plan to bring up the level of water. There was a heap of pebbles nearby. The crow flew#-, to it and picked the pebbles and dropped them one by one^ into the jug. The water level began to rise up slowly. The crow kept on dropping the pebbles until he was able to drink it. So they sat  under a tree and sent one of them to fetch food from a  neighbouring town. In his absence, the other two decided to kill him and divide the gold equally between themselves. The man who had gone to fetch food, was very greedy. He  mixed some poison in the food. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">He said to himself, “I will have the whole gold, when they eat this meal. I will go to the town and start my own business with the gold I get”. When he came back to his companions they killed him. Then both of them ate the food which the first one had brought for them. His country was occupied by a tyrant British. So, he fought seventeen  battles to  liberate his country from the despotic dictatorship and the brutality of the English. But he was met with a crushing defeat every time. Once he brought all his sources in. use and made high preparations to fight a decisive battle.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"> He was sure now that he would succeed in driving the British out of his country and hence, he fought desperately and courageously. But luck still did not favour him and he had to run away from the battlefield to save his life. Dejected, depressed and hopeless, he hid himself in a cave and began to scold his ill-luck. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">He was so frustrated and grieved that he decided to give up his efforts to win freedom. Preoccupied with his thoughts and lying in the cave, he caught sight of a small spider that was trying to ascend the wall to reach its cobweb. It fell down but it began to climb up again. It tried many times to reach its cobweb but fell down every time. “You foolish mini creature!</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"> The cobweb is too high for you to climb up. Be resigned to your fate and live somewhere else,” he said to the spider. When the spider failed in the ninth attempt, he was sure that it would make no more efforts. But to his great surprise, the spider’s spirits were still high and it began to climb up the wall for the tenth time also. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">This time, success became its lot and it reached its cobweb. .“If a small creature like a spider can succeed in its aim by not losing heart but making constant struggle, why can’t I?” he thought. He was inspired so much that he got a new enthusiasm to resume the struggle. He gathered all his scattered forces and attacked the enemy with a new zeal and zest. This time he succeeded in driving the British out of his country and winning freedom for his nation. <br /><b><span style="color: #783f04;">Moral: </span></b><br />(i) Try, try again. <br />(ii) There is no end of struggle. <br />(iii) God helps those who help themselves. <br />(iv) No pains, no gains.«<br /></span></p>

<p> The King and the Spider</p><p>THE KING AND THE SPIDER <br /></p><p>This story teaches us another lesson of preserverance and steadfastness.It urges us to be constant in our doinggs.we should make daring moves.We should stick to our particular stance .Shakespear says in"The taming of the shrew': "- as mountains are for winds ,that shakes not,though they blow perpetually."Robert Bruce was a valant king of scotland.He fought many battels to liberate his country from the despotic dictatorship and brutality of te English.Nevertheless,he could never succeed in his efforts.Once he made the full preparations for war.</p><p>He wanted to fight a decisive battle.He was extermely confident of his victory.He fought courageously and fearlessly but to no avail.He was defeated so badly that he had to run away from the battlefield to save his life.He hid in a cave and began to ponder over his faults that had brought about his defeat despite the full -fledged preparations.He was so frustrated and grieved at his defeat that he decided to abandon his struggle for freedom .Preoccupied  with his thoughts ,he lay down in the cave.Eventually he caught sight of a spider that was ascending the wall to reach its cobweb.The spider tried many times to reach its destination but could not.Every time it fell down ,it tried with new determination .It failed nine times but did not get hopeless.The king thought that the spider would never try again to get at the web.However ,to his surprise ,he saw the spider climbing again .This time ,It succeeded in reaching its cobweb.This inspired the king so much that he got a new enthusiasm to resume his struggle.He gathered his army again and fought fiercely with anunusual spirit of victory.Ultimately ,he defeated his enemy and won freedom for his country.</p><p>Possible morals</p><p>1-Try try again</p><p>2-Despair is a sin</p><p>3-Failure leads to success. <br /></p>

<h2 style="text-align: left;">THE ROBBERS TURNED GOOD CITIZENS<br /></h2><p>Man can not attain moral purity until he becomes truthful.Truth yields the fruits of trust and reliability.Walt whiteman ,an American poet says ,"Whatever satsfies the soul is truth."<br />Once the parents of Abdul Qadir Gilani decided to send him to Baghdad for learning.At the time of his <br />departure .his mother gave him forty gold coins .<br />She advised him to speak the truth always.With a Carvan ,he started ,he started his journey to Baghdad.On the way a gang of robbers attacked the carvans and robbed the passengers of their possessions .One of the dacoits came to Abdul Qadir and asked him what he owned.<br />Abdul Qadir where those coins were.Abdul Qadir said that they were sewn in his clothes.The robber was impressed with his truthfulness.He tok Abdul Qadir to his leader and told him the whole incident.The leader asked Abdul Qadir why he had not saved his money by telling a lie.Abdul Qadir said that his mother had advised him to speak the truth always.Therefore,he had acted upon his mother's advice.This reply of Abdul Qadir moved the leader to tears .He returend the looted luggage to the Passengers,and gave up the evil deeds forever.<br />Possible Morals: <br /></p><h4 style="text-align: left;">(1) Truth always triumphs</h4><h4 style="text-align: left;">(2) Virtue generates virtue</h4>

The tender strokes of cool breeze rocked his tried body .Soon he went off to sleep in the arms of Morpheus. On the other hand ,the tortoise was extremely exhausted but he continued to go on ward with steady step. He <br />reached the place where the harewas enjoying profoundly.sound sleep. It persuades us to faster love, compassion , kindness and sympathy. <br />kindness is the essence of all religions of the  world. The Holy Ourran says: <br />" Shall the recompense of goodness be other than goodness?" <br />Mark Twain, an American writer says: "Kindness is a language which the dumb can speak the deaf can hear and the blind can see." Thus we should be merciful ( and kind to all the creatures of ALLAH. <br />In ancient times the rich were entitled to enslave the poor, A merciless master had many slaves. <br />Androcles was one of them. <br />The master was a sadist.He tormented slaves just for fun and joy . Although Androcles always did his work diligently ,his master was never satisfied with his work. The master often got furious at his work and tortured him severely. One day, the poor slave managed to run away from the tyranny of his master. <br />He took refuge in an isolated cave in a wilderness, There, one day, he happened to come across a fierce lion. The lion had a luxuriant mane and huge flashing eyes. The slave was extremely frightened and was about to run away to save his life but then he observed that the lion was limping and moaning with pain. He also observed that one of his paws was badly swollen. He saw that a big thorn had pierced it. As he was a kind-hearted person, he decided to relieve the wretched lion of his plight. He observed the lion’s movement for a while. <br />Finally, he took fine risk. He mustered up courage, went near the lion vigilantly and extracted the thorn from his paw, The Lion heaved a sigh of relief and cast a look of gratitude at him. After a long time, the soldiers of the master captured the slave and brought him before the ruthless  master. The master decided to cast the unfortunate slave before a hungry lion as a warning for the other slaves.<br /> On the fixed day, the slave was thrown into an amphitheatre . The gate of a heavy cage was opened and a fierce lion vaulted out. The lion came bouncing across the field. He approached the slave and recognized him as the man who had helped him in his distress. Instead of attacking him, the lion began to lick the slave's feet. As soon as the master heard the incident of the slave's kind heartedness and bravery, he was moved to tears. He ordered the lion to be set free again in the test, <br />and the slave to be pardoned and freed. </p><p><b>Possible Morals:</b></p><p> (1) Do good and bait good. <br />(2) Virtue never goes waste/unrewarded. <br />(3) One good turn deserves another.<br /><br /><br /> <br /><br /> </p>

The saddle is made of wood and it is there on the donkey's back.” So saying, he seized the saddle and ordered his servants to throw the wood seller in the street. The woodseller went to the Caliph. </span><br /> <span style="font-size: large;">The caliph could not help him, because the terms of the bargain favoured the barber. But he did offer the poor man a piece of good advice. The next day, the woodseller went to the barber’s shop and asked him to shave him and his friend. He offered to pay two dinars for it. The barber shaved the woodseller and then told him to bring his friend. </span><br /> <span style="font-size: large;">The woodseller went out and brought his donkey. The barber flew into a rage. “How dare you play a silly joke on me ? I, the barber to the King’s courtiers, shave your donkey! Get out of here, before 1 break your skull,” he said. The woodseller went to the Caliph once again. </span><br /> <span style="font-size: large;">The Caliph called the barber before him. After listening to the statements of the parties, the Caliph pronounced: “The woodseller is in the right. If the saddle of a donkey can be a part of the fuel wood, the donkey can very well be a man’s companion and friend.” Then he ordered the barber to shave the donkey in the presence of all the courtiers. If he knew, he did not care for . He was young, and there was beauty ful everything. But soon the flowers of spring began to face and wither. The days became shorter. </span><br /> <span style="font-size: large;"> The sun was less warm and the breeze more cold. Still the young cricket was intoxicated with happiness. He did not give any thought to the future.</span><br /> <span style="font-size: large;"> One day, the snow began to fall he could store food for the winter, the vegetation perished in the freezing cold .He went about in search of vegetarian diet but found nohing. His legs went numb by hopping on the hard, cold sheet of ice.</span><br /> <span style="font-size: large;"> Then he saw an army of ants out of a dried and hollow stump of a tree. He approached them and begged for food. “How is it that your food has run short in the beginning.of the winter the ants asked him. “1 had not stored an food,” he replied in a faint voice, “I sang and danced and did not realized at the winter would be cruel.” The ants were no less cruel than the Winter. </span><br /> <span style="font-size: large;">‘ Why should we give you food ? What can you give us in return ?” they demanded “I will sing and dance for you,” he replied. But they turned it out. They.said, "You are not an animal because you lay eggs." It, then flew over to the other camp. They also turned it out. They said, "You are not a bird, you give milk to your young ones." Since that time, the bat does not show its face neither to animals nor to birds.
