Many times poets will incorporate the senses and express a brief moment in words. Carl Sandburg is very frugal in the words he chooses to describe the "fog’’. There appears to be a cacophony (a harsh or discordant mix of sounds) in the way that the word is described. The opening line of Sandburg's poem suggests a loud warning. And yet he uses an antithesis of silence in the imagery of a “little cat” to demonstrate that the city will be caught unaware. Furthermore, he personifies the fog to accentuate the feeling of danger. The fact that the “fog" sits looking “over the harbour and city” is an ominous image. It emphasizes an aspect of vulnerability to The elements of nature. Man has no control over weather, which can be beautiful and destructive at the same time. However, the fog “moves on” at the end. It does not dwell and linger above the city, but rather continues on its journey. Sandburg’s ending seems to be parallel life; we dwell upon things and eventually come to a decision and move forward.

Modem man is too busy to enjoy the beauties of nature around him. He is so much absorbed in his work that he cannot find time to appreciate the natural charm which God has provided him. The poet says that it is sad that we have no time to see beautiful and charming scenes of nature. Leisure is a mild satire on the modem computerized and mechanical life. Man cannot enjoy the natural beauty because he is worried about his worldly problems. Man is helpless against problems, difficulties and worries of life. He works from morning till evening to fulfil his desires and wishes to make his life comfortable. . No doubt, it is difficult to find care-free time in this L industrial and commercial age but in spite of all the engagements and activities, man can still enjoy the natural beauty around him. The important prerequisite is that we | must change our attitudes; We must develop aesthetic sense in us and must educate ourselves how to enjoy the natural beauty. We must learn to get pleasure from ordinary objects of nature. We must think that after all we are human beings having passions, emotions, likes, dislikes and ambitions. We must reduce or minimize our lust for wealth. We must be contented with our present position. We must think that we are human beings not robots. We should bring change in our day-to-day life to get some free time for happiness and pleasure. God has blessed us a lot of natural objects and beauties of nature around us free of cost. We need no money to buy these natural beauties, We can make our life delightful and colourful by enjoying these physical charms. We must think that happiness always comes bit by bit and it never comes in bulk. So, we are agreed with the poet that modem man is busy In material pursuits of life but we can enjoy the natural delights by changing our attitude by developing our aesthetic sense and educating  ourself, we can enjoy the natural beauties blessed by Allah Almighty.

Even dogs and birds are living more freely. Lucy yields at last before the will of her daughter by that it is always a losing game to be a mother for she has been losing her grip over her daughter as she grew from a baby to young independent women. his behaviour (the attack). He felt that it was a very mean action at his
part.

He now desired that the snake
should return but it would not! He imagined the snake as a king of the underground
world who had come to the poet’s world temporarily and was now being crowned in

to such a lord of life; He wanted to do some penance for this petty act he had

Kagwa was a hunter. He was a brave fellow and he used to hunt lions. One day, he was roaming here and there in the forest with his spear in search of some prey. 1 Suddenly, he found the skull of a man. He said to the 1 skull, "How did you come here?" The skull opened its I mouth and said, “Talking brought me here". Kagwa could not understand the real meaning of the j sentence. He was surprised to see the talking skull in the 1 forest. So he went to the court of the King and told him all j that he had seen. The King said that he had never seen a I talking skull throughout his life. He sent two of his guards a with Kagwa to find the talking skull and he gave them orders 1 to kill Kagwa if there was no talking skull to be found. Kagwa and the two guards went into the forest and 1 searched for the skull. At first, they couldn’t find it but, later on, they found it. Kagwa asked the skull, “How did you 1 come here?” The skull did not give any answer. He asked-a and requested again and again but the skull did not reply. -J The guards, then, obeyed the order of the King and 1 killed Kagwa. After they had returned, the skull opened-its 1 mouth and asked Kagwa, “Huntsman, how did you come K here?” And dead Kagwa replied, “Talking brought me 1 here”. Dead Kagwa could npw understand the words J spoken by the skull earlier as he has gone through the I same experience and has got first-hand knowledge of how  talking kills a man!

If everybody loves dogs, he shows his love for cats. If everybody praises the sun, he talks about the need for rain. When everybody goes to the meeting, he stays at home and reads a book. When everybody accepts the offer, he rejects it. Nobody likes to become one such fellow but if there are such fellows in our society, it is not altogether bad. The theme is presented in a light humorous manner. The language is simple and plain and the sentences straightforward. It is, so to speak, a good piece of narration that brings out dramatically the trivial and low tone of the so- called rebel’s difference of behaviour in society.

As for the situation of the Third World countries is concerned, the writer has aptly drawn the picture of such a political leader. People welcome their candidates warmly and shower the petals over them but after passing some time, they are fed up with the political leaders. Actually, the poverty is main factor in the Third World countries which is responsible for such events. We find many examples in this regard in many Third World countries. Pakistan and India are the best examples in this concern. Many political leaders have been welcomed very warmly but after that they have been accused for having treason with the country. It is not considered the name of such leaders for some reasons but everybody knows well about them.

Then song of the Solitary Reaper impressed the poet so much for various reasons. The girl was singing in the natural beauty of the mountain in a valley. Her voice was enchanting. The poet says that even no nightingale can sing as beautifully as the girl was singing in a melodiouis voice. The whole valley was full of her sweet song. The poet says, though he could not understand what she was singing but her voice was fascinating and enchanting. He compares her note with that of the cuckoo's and says thaj her voice was sweeter than cuckoo’s. The poet says  whenever he is in a sad mood, he remembers that soft and feels happy. Although he did not happen to see the girl singing since very long, even then he remembers it. It is a source of pleasure for him.
