Q.l: Write five sentences about the activities that you do every weekend. Follow the example. Take further guidance from Unit 1 of your text book. Example: I do laundry every Sunday.

Answer:-
1. I arrange my study table every Sunday.
2. On Sunday I must go to yoga classes.
3. I iron my clothes on Sunday.
4. Sunday is the day of visit to friend’s family?
5. Every Sunday I made full week shopping.

Q.2: Make a list of five formal and five informal greetings. Follow the examples. Read Unit 2 for further guidance.

Example: Formal: Hello, how do you do?
Informal: Hi, how are you?
Answer:-

Formal Greetings:

1. I have not seen you for a long time.
2. You are looking good.
3. How are your parents?
4. Hello. Where are you going to today?
5. Goodbye

 Informal Greetings:

1. Morning. How’s it going?
2. It’s been a long time.

Q.3: Suppose you meet a new class fellow for the first time. Write down five questions which you will ask him for acquaintanceship. These questions should start from auxiliary' verbs such as Do, Are, Did, is, Have etc. You may take guidance from Unit 2 of your textbook.

3. Where are you from?
4. May I know your good name?
5. In which class do you read?

Q.4: Read the following situations and make request sentences accordingly as given in unit 3 of your text book. Follow the example.

Example: Asking someone to be quiet.
Why don’t you keep quiet?
i. Asking your father for you admission fee
ii. Asking your neighbor for some sugar.
iii. Asking your sister for help in studies.
iv. Asking your friend for a book.
v. Asking a stranger for directions.

5. Do you mind if you tell me the way to post office.

Q.5: How will you grant/refuse permission in response of each of the following requests? Use a different expression each time. Follow the example. Consult Unit 3 for further guidance.

Granting Permission: Yes, certainly.
Refusing Permission: 1 am afraid 1 can’t let you.
Could you please be quite?
Can 1 help you do the laundry?
Would you mind giving back my book?
Can you help me with my school assignment?
Would you lend me your bicycle?

Q.6: Names of two famous celebrities of Pakistan are given below. Describe each of these personalities in live sentences each as you have learnt in Unit 4. section A of Your textbook.

Answer:-

1. Imran Khan

Imran khan is the prime minister of Pakistan. He is really handsome and physically fit. He was the most eligible bachelor of his time. He hates corruption and dishonesty. He polite to mass and rude to criminals.

2. Abdul Qadeer Khan

Dr Abdul Qadeer khan is proud of Pakistan he is scientist by profession. He has attractive personality and true picture of sound mind in sound body. He is serious person. He loves to invent and create.

Q.7: Use appropriate punctuation mark in the following sentences as explained in unit 4, Section C of you text book.

We had a great time in Murree the kids really enjoyed it Some people work best in the mornings others do better in the evenings

Answer: -
1. We had a great time in Muree, the kids really enjoyed it.

Q.8: Unit 5, Section A tells you how to express happiness. Read the following situations and write an expression of happiness in response to each one of them. Use a different expression each time. Follow the example.

Your father has bought a new’ car.
Your friend is back from London.
Your brother got married.
You are short-listed for a job interview. You got the best student of the year award.
Answer:-1. It’s wonderful, let’s have fun.
2. Fantastic, I’ll meet her soon.
3. Simply splendid, we are going to enjoy.
4. I’m so happy.
