Fox and crane

Fox and crane

Once a fox and a crane were friends. One day the fox invited the crane to dinner. But he wanted to make a fool of his guest. When the crane came he offered him some soup in a flat dish. The crane had a long beak. Therefore, it was impossible for him to eat something.
The fox ate up everything in no time. The crane returned home as hungry as ever. He determined to teach the fox a lesson. After some days, the crane invited the fox to dinner. He put some boiled rice into a narrow necked jar. When the fox came he placed the jar before his guest.
The fox was unable to eat anything as he could not put his mouth into the jar. The crane put his long beak into the jar and ate up everything. The fox had to go home hungry. He was feeling much ashamed.

Merchant and horse

Once upon a time a merchant earned a large sum of money by selling his goods. He had to go a long.way to reach home. He went to an inn and called for his horse. The stable men brought out his horse and said, "Sir, your horse has lost a shoe nail. You better wait and have it put in." The merchant said, "Don' worry! I have no time. One nail does not matter."
He got on his tiorse and galloped towards his destination. After sometime another nail fell and then fell the shoe. The horse began to limp. Soon it went quite lame. The darkness was falling. He.was getting late.
At last he got down and lead the horse. He was still far away from home. All of a sudden, a gang of robbers appeared in the forest. They robbed him of his money bag, and left him wounded. He was repenting over hastiness.

A thirsty crow

Thirsity crow

Once it was a summer noon. A crow felt very thirsty. He flew here and there in search of water. At last he reached a garden. There he saw a pitcher of water. He flew to it, sat on its mouth and tried to drink water. There was a little water in the bottom of the pitcher. His beak could not reach the water. He was disappointed because he could not quench his thirst.
He looked around and saw many pebbles lying here and there. He hit upon a plan. He flew and brought a small pebble in his beak and dropped it into the pitcher. He revised this action many times till the water rose'up to the mouth of the pitcher. The crow quenched his thirst and flew away happily.
