The morning walk is very useful for health. It makes us cheerful and healthy. A morning walk is a tonic for the weak a cure for the sick and an exercise for the healthy. It is a Remedy for many <a href="http://educational-wealth.blogspot.com/2014/03/common-diseases-part-2.html" target="_blank">diseases</a> it freshes the brain and sharpens the intellect . It strengthens the 
Lungs and the heart and purifies the blood. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I take my morning walk regularly. I get up early in the morning. I start from my house at 5.15a.m. My friend Uzair joins me for a walk. .We usually go to the<a href="http://educational-wealth.blogspot.com/2014/02/worlds-rivers.html" target="_blank"> river</a>. It is about two miles away. We pass through fields. There is peace and calm everywhere. A cool breeze is blowing. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Birds greet us from the branches of the trees. They sing sweet songs. Their songs amuse us very much . Larks sing high up in the air. Doves Coo and sparrow twitter in tree.Crows filt before us. They disturb the peace of scene by their harsh noise from flower to another. The sky is clear. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The green fields are 
cohered with dew . The crops wave gently in the breeze. We breathe in the fresh air for a short time .It fills us with new life.
On the way we meet farmers driving their teams of oxen to the 
fields.We also see <a href="http://educational-wealth.blogspot.com/2014/01/benefits-of-vegetarian-diet.html" target="_blank">vegetable</a> sellers carrying fresh
vegetable to the market. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Some farmers are seen ploughing fields. We also come across a number of bullock carts drawling along the road.Some washer men with their donkey loads of dirty clothes are seen wending their way to the river.We also meet some men taking morning 
 walk.
After about half an hour’s pleasant walk we reach the bank of river and sit on the edge of its bank to take some rest.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The river flows quietly.Ripples dance on its bosom.
We see about hundred men on the bank. Some of them are bathing and a few are swimming in the retaking exercise. Two or three are counting beads offering their prayers. One or two washermen are| washing clothes. Three or four fishermen are catching fish.  
After about fifteen minutes rest we take a walk by the river side. We laugh and chat . We inhale a lot of fresh air. Then we have a bath in the river and say our prayer.  
By this time the<a href="http://educational-wealth.blogspot.com/2014/02/sun-and-its-rays.html" target="_blank"> sun</a> rises. Everything is bathed in a flood of golden light. The sky is filled with a hundred different colours. The dew drops shine brightly.  
They look like pearls in the light of the rising sun. At about seven we take our way back home. On the way we meet village boys going to school. We return home full of endless vigour to work throughout the day.

It was the month of December last year. It was very cold and dusty. The morning was very misty so nothing was visible. All of a sudden a small piece of cloud appeared in the sky. Soon the whole sky was covered with thick dark clouds. A cold and biting wind began to blow. It looked like night . All went indoors.  
Before long the <a href="http://educational-wealth.blogspot.com/2014/03/wind.html" target="_blank">wind </a>blew strongly. There were flashes of lightnings and loud roars of thunder .At first it began to drizzle and then came down big drops.  
There was a death--like silence in the streets. Only the pattering of the <a href="http://educational-wealth.blogspot.com/2014/05/a-rainy-day.html" target="_blank">rain</a> was audible It became very cold now. There were no sings, of life in the city. All the roads and streets looked deserted. Not a single person could be seen walking there .  
Pedestrians sought shelter while cars, buses and other vehicles were parked aside. Everybody began to shiver with cold.
The rain stopped after an hour. The streets were still filled with water. Water subsided after half an hour. But the roads had become muddy and slippery. The streets were full of mud and wire.  
Trees and the plants
looked fresh. The crops became greener.
Many people retired to their house due to intense cold. The rich began to cook roasted meat and delicious food. Some took tea with eggs and dry fruit. Poor people were shivering with cold. They could not afford to put on warm clothes.  
Cofee-houses and tea stalls presented lively scenes. Groups of people were seen assembled round the fire to keep themselves
warm. Some were indulged (tin pleasant talk while others were doing full justice to the tea and sweets.  
After two hours, the clouds disappeared and the <a href="http://educational-wealth.blogspot.com/2014/02/sun-and-its-rays.html" target="_blank">sun</a> came out 
providing relief for the poor. Some houses collapsed due to heavy down pour.Crops were also damaged. All the school remained closed in the town that day. The rain increase cold but it proved very useful for wheat crop.

Ours is an agricultural country. The farmer is an 
important member of our society. He is the backbone of our nation. His life is an unending struggle against the elements of nature. He leads a very simple but busy life.  
He works hard with the help of age old plough. He leads a hard life. He knows no holidays. He does his work in rain and sunshine. He begins his work long before the <a href="http://educational-wealth.blogspot.com/2014/02/sun-and-its-rays.html" target="_blank">sun</a>rise. He has to do a lot of 
work before going to bed. He gets up early in the morning. He works in the fields till noon.  
He, then, gives fodder to his animals. He returns home in the evening with his bullocks. He milks the cows and buffaloes. He chats little with his family. He, then, goes to bed.
He looks very strong and sturdy but his dress is very shabby. When ploughing the fields he has only a loin on him.  
He is a model of patience. Morning and evening we see him busy in his fields. At one time he ploughs the fields, at another time he is sowing. Weeding or 
watering. He still follows his forefathers. But the world has changed. The land has become less fertile and less productive.  
He leads a hard and rough life but his reward is meagret- He hardly keeps his body and soul together. Sometimes the rains, frosty and floods, sometimes the draught damages his crops. In recent years water logging and salinity have become dangerous problem.
The work of a farmer depends entirely on weather. But this is very uncertain factor.  
He has to do a lot of work. He has to plough the fields, sow the seeds and water the land. Then he has to look after the crop constantly. A thousand odd jobs 
needs his attention.  
He has to look after his oxen, buffaloes, goats, sheep and other cattle.
The farmer of our country is usually illiterates. He is also poor and backward. He is rough in his manners He is religious but very superstitious.

The policeman is a useful public servant.  
His job is full of grave responsibilities . He looks smart and active. He has a leather belt round his waist. The belt carries a brass plate bearing his number. He is seen in every town and city. He has to perform many duties.  
His first and foremost duty is to maintain law and order. He keeps a watch over the life and property of the people. In big cities he also controls traffic during the day and acts as a watchman at night. Armed with a rifle he is seen on duty at the gates of banks, courts, prisons, treasuries, police stations, colleges, government houses and other important places.  
We see him doing his duty at every crossing, crowded places and railway station. He is seen in fairs, in bazar and in streets. He walks with measured steps . He looks very dignified.
He is a terror for the thieves and law breakers. But he is a helpful friend of the law-abiding
people.  
His duty is to arrest thieves, dacoits and criminals. He keeps an eye on offenderstc and suspicious persons. He investigates crimes and produces the offenders before judges and magistrates.He safeguards the interests of peace loving citizens
Some police men are very dishonest. They accept bribes.  
But whenever such policemen are found out, they are severely punished They are
grave danger to the public safety. Some policemen are cruel. They put the public to trouble for nothing.
He leads a toilsome life.  
It may be feezing cold or scorching Heat he is on duty. He performs a tough job and faces dangerous situations. His duties are very hard and important but his pay is very small. He must get good pay so that he may live on his honest earnings.

Last month my mother suffered a heat stroke and she was rushed to the hospital. For the next ten days my sister and I attended on her day and night. I saw there many things. I saw the pitiable condition of patients in the ward.  
Many of them were seriously ill. Some of them were admitted for the operations of eyes, others for the operations of stomachs and still others for other ailments. There were 50 beds with patients either lying or reclining. Some patients were Moaning miserably. Their condition was critical. Some refused to take their medicines They became unreasonable.  
But doctors and nurses were not angry with them. They gave them sympathy and kindness. An old woman was in a bad condition. She expired after an hour. After a number of hospital formalities her dead body was handed over to her relatives.  
They were weeping bitterly
Ailing children were crying. Their mothers were walking restlessly The sight of crying children was unbearable.  
There were many Horrible scenes in the hospital. Even innocent children had to undergo unimaginable sufferings. One of the children was admitted with a fractured leg and broken jaws
Some unconscious patients were carried to the emergency ward. Some boys were brought with fractured bones.  
A profusely bleeding woman was being
taken to the casualty ward.A young boy
was brought to the operation theatre. He was injured in a road side accident. We saw blood pools here and there in the emergency ward.  
There were some bandaged patients who were crying with pains.The sight of suffering was unbearable. I returned home with gloomy mood. I could not relish a single morsel of food. I was robbed of my sleep. I prayed for the recovery of patients.

It was a fine <a href="http://educational-wealth.blogspot.com/2014/02/sun-and-its-rays.html" target="_blank">sun</a>ny day in January. Our father took us to the museum. It is situated in front of Punjab University Lahore. It is an important place where works of art and other objects of historical value are kept and displayed. It has a good store of antiques of all times.
We bought tickets and went in.  
It is an old imposing building with a high ceiling. It consists of many halls. Each hall has many rare and curious things. Our father took us round different sections of the beautiful museum. There are things which form part of history. When we looked them, history flashed up on our mind in vivid images. In one hall, we saw pictures of the past kings of India.  
The pictures of Mughal emperors and their queens were very charming. In another hall, we saw the arms and weaponsp of the old time. Ancient swords, daggers, garments, ornaments coinst, bows and arrows were displayed in glass cases. The swords, turbans, royal dresses of some great Indian rulers were preserved there.  
The coins, utensils with engravings , royal seals, imperial ordains and many other things were kept with great care. There were also stuffed bears, tigers and snakes in big glass cases. There were tags with brief descriptions on most of the items on display. There were paintings, pictures and clay modes of ancient craftsmanship. Full size doors and frames with primitive fittings were specimens of the wood work speciality.  
The carved door frames, old coins and vesselstc from Harappa gave us glimpse of the ancient civilization of our homeland. In one hall, we saw statue of Budha. The huge statue of Queen Victoria lay in one room of the museum.  
We also saw model of Taj Mahal. There were old manuscripts Lur'fif the Holy Quran in one room. We enjoyed very much our visit to the museum. We saw for the first time things of the past age. Our visit to the museum gave us a wealth of information and insight. It was a rewarding visit
indeed.

The memory of my last Railway journey is still fresh in my mind. Last month my uncle invited us to attend the marriage party of my cousin. We were glad at this news. All arrangements were made without delay.  
We packed our luggage. We hired a tonga and reached the railway station. There was a great rush in front of the booking office. Every body was in a hurry. We bought four first class tickets and reached the platform. There were piles of luggage on the platform. The coolies and vendors were making a great noise. The hawkers were shouting at the top of their voice.  
The train arrived in time. We got into a first class compartment. The compartment was ful packed. But I was fortunate to get a seat near the window.After ten minutes the train whistled and started. It was running through the green fields.  
The farmers were busy in work. Children made faces at us. Some naughty boys tried to throw stones at the passengers. Our train passed through barren and grassy districts. Buildings, tress and bridges looked running backwards.  
train stopped at important stations. At each of these stations there was a great hustle and bustle Passengers getting in and passengers getting out bumped into one another. They dragged their luggage and walked hurriedly.  
They exchanged hot words. Women quarrelled while their men tried to pacify them. Inside the train, people went on talking on different 
topics. Some passengers talked about politics.After six hours we reached Multan. Our cousins had come to receive us. It was a sweet and enjoyable journey. We shall have a happy memory of it for long.

7- Mother was anxiously looking  
One hot summer evening my friend and I went out for a long walk. The weather was very hot. There had been no rain for several months.  
The sun was shining very brightly and scarcely a cloud was to be seen.
We were going merrily across some fields. All of a sudden the sky became overcast with black clouds. The sun was speedily hidden. We heard the rolling and rumbling of distant thunder. The lightning shot zigzag Iines across the dark sky.  
The flashes of lightning and claps of thunder frightened us. A strong wind was also blowing. Immediately it was followed by loud peals of thunder. Rain began to fall in torrents. In a short time we were drenched the skin.  
Unfortunately,we 
were three kilometers away from our home. There was no place where we could take shelter. We had to walk through the fields. But they were full of water then.
It was getting dark. We were trying our best to find a protection. After fifteen minutes we reached the farm yard. We got into the barn and were safe.  
Meanwhile the thunder of lightning got worse. We wondered how long the storm would last.The rain and storm were playing with the trees. Most of them could not stand against the blast and were uprooted .Streams
of water filled the fields. There was water everywhere.  
Then gradually the thunder abated its roar. The lightning became less frequent. The clouds were seen passing away. The wind died down to a breeze. Everybody felt fresh and cool. We heaved a sigh of relief then. The clouds disappeared very soon and the <a href="http://educational-wealth.blogspot.com/2014/02/sun-and-its-rays.html" target="_blank">sun</a> shone forth. We hurried home as quickly as our legs could carry us.  
My mother was anxiously looking out for us. She was standing at the door. She was happy to see us back home safe and sounds.
