THE THIRSTY CROW

The thirsty Crow

The story tells us that necessity is the mother of invention .It elucidates how our urgent urge stimulates our creative ability .George Eliot in her historical novel Romola says "Necessity does the work of courage".
It was a blazing day of summer. The scrotching heat and the burning rays of sun had dried up all the pools and ponds all around.Life was crippled thoroughly.A crow felt extemely thirsity. He flew away in search of water to quench his raging thirst.
Though he flew away far and wide to find water,he could find no water anywhere. The in tolerable thirst had parched his throught utterly .He feared that he would perish soon if he could not find water..Therefore ,he did not cease his quest. After a long search ,he arrived at a garden. To his good luck.there he saw a pitcher placed near a cottage. He felt indescribably happy. He sat at the mouth of the pitcher to satiate his thirst. But to his grief, the pitcher contained so little water that he could not possibly get at it.
He was utterly upset.By chance ,he caught sight of a few pebbles lying nearby. He struck on a wonderful idea.He began to pick and drop pebbles into the pitcher. The Surface on the water began to ascend slowly. He continued his toil for qa long time.At last ,the water rose to the brim of the pitcher. He drank his fill and flew away happily.
