We decided to go to canal. We reached canal at 10 a.m. The banks of canal were occupied by the visitors. We picked a place under a banana tree and sat on there. We also took with us all the paraphernalia of lunch. Then was listened to music. As we were lost in the sweet music of our transistor, we heard loud cries. I immediately rushed towards the canal and saw to my shock and surprise that a boy was drowning.
He was crying for help. Immediately jumped into the water and swan towards the drowning man. I caught hold of the boy after a great struggle and dragged towards the bank. He was in a semi conscious state When I saw him closely I was surprised to know that he was my neighboures.
He was then given medical aid and after some time regained consciousness. I was delighted to see him recovering. My joy knew no bound because I had saved the life of boy who happened to be my friend.
