writing style used in higher educational level. It is used for essays, reports, research papers and presentations. Because in these writing your point should be constructions, arguable and coherent.
b-How would you draw your mind map if you are required to write down a paragraph on “education”?
Answer: A mind map is a graphical way to represent ideas and concepts. It’s a visual thinking tool that helps structuring information, helping you to better analyze, comprehend, synthesize, recall and generate new ideas.
c. define “argumentative essay”. How it is different than other types of essays?
Answer: Argumentative essay attempts to persuade the reader to the writer’s point of view.
The writer can either be serious or funny, but always tries to convince the reader of the validity of his or her opinion. The mam difference between argumentative and other types of essay that the writer try to convince its reader and provide information’s and describe its explanations in straight forward manner.
Q.2 Read pages 24-30 carefully (the content is about various parts of an academic essay) and write an academic essay (of about 150 words) on
“My Favorite City”.
Answer: I live in Lahore. It is very big city.It’s my birth place too. That’s why it is my favourite city. It's the capital of Punjab. It is famous for gardens and colleges. It’s a historical city. Many historical building are cause of it's glory.It also represnts great Mughal art and old civilizations. One can easily assume two different civilizations in Lahore. One is old Lahore and other is modern Lahore. Old civilization consists in ancient part of Lahore which is called “Walled City”. Modem look of Lahore can be visualized on the Mall road, Anakali, Gulberg, Deffence, Liberty and other busy commercial centers of Lahore. Lahore is a unique city of lively people.
Q.3 Read pages 31-34 carefully (the content is about formal and informal styles of writing) and decide what type of writing style (formal / informal) is used in the following text and how?
Ans:
Aslam is an old chum of mine. We’ve been chummy since school days and that's the best of it. We’d played together, studied, travelled through fields of sugarcane and swum in a nearby lake you know that was our lala-land.
Answer: The paragraph is written in informal style of writing. It shows personnel relation

Answer: Our principal Mr M Farool gets up with the Azaan-e-Fajr. He says his
prayers first of all. Then he goes for morning walk. He gets back his home at sharp 7.00. He has his breakfast and then get ready for college. He reaches college sharp 8.30. He attend assembly and then check attendance and duty register. After that he takes view of time table and other paper work. He takes his meal at 12.30 m break time. using appropriate SEQUENCE MARKERS.
