A letter to a friend of your father, asking him what qualifications are needed for his profession

 Examination Hall,
 October 11,2013.
Dear friend , I have passed my F.Sc. (Pre-engineering) this year. My father wished that I could get admission to an engineering college. But it is not possible as I have not obtained good marks. Now father wants me to do my B.Sc. But I have no aptitude for further academic studies. I want to get some technical training. I like your profession, that is the job of a Store Examining Officer. I think one is required to take up some technical study after F.Sc. to qualify for this post. Kindly let me know what qualifications are required to compete for it and what prospects this profession offers.
 Yours sincerely,
 X.Y.Z (Name)
A letter to a leading newspaper, about the problem of beggary in your town
To The Editor,
 The News paper.
 December 26,2013.
Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed paper, I want to invite the attention of the district authorities to the problem of beggary in our town. RecentIy, the number of beggars in our town has increased manifold. The moment you come out of your house, they start plaguing you. They pursue you like a shadow. Even hale and hearty people have taken to begging.
Small boys and children have caught the infection. Perhaps they are made to beg by their guardians. The beggars’ gather at places frequented by the people. The bus stands, market places, post offices, railway station and mosques are their favourite haunts . It is impossible to move about those places peacefully.
If you show generosity and open your purse, you are surrounded by a host of them. Some child-lifters, in the guise of beggars, are on the lookout for abducting children. Two or three cases of this kind have occurred recently, and the culprits have been caught red-handed. The female beggars enter the houses quietly without calling out for alms at the door.
If they are not noticed by the inmates, they run away with whatever they can lay hands on. They act as informers to the burglars who break into houses at night. A prompt action on the part of the Government is required to check this social evil.

A letter to the editor of a newspaper on reckless driving
To The Editor,
The Lahore Times, Lahore.
 June 27, 2013
Sir,
For quite some time, road accidents have been on the increase. They are a great threat to life and property. The Government should take effective steps to guard against them. The main cause of the accidents is fast and rash driving. The buses belonging to rival companies begin races on the road.
The drivers^overtake and re-overtake one another on narrow roads and risky corners. This leads to dangerous driving resulting, sometimes, in disaster. The police should keep a constant watch over the speed of the vehicles. Check posts should be established and surprise raids should be conducted frequently. Severe action should be taken against the defaulters.
The licences of the drivers exceeding the speed-limit should be cancelled forthwith. The company whose drivers too often neglect the laws should be warned. If warning proves ineffective, its route-permit should be cancelled. The passengers should be requested through the press, the television and the radio to cooperate with the Government.
They should refuse to continue their journey in a bus not observing the traffic rules. Yours truly, Name. Address. A letter to the editor of a newspaper, making a plea for the improvement of some public service To The Editor, The Newspaper, Lahore. June 28,2013 Sir, The electricity breakdowns in our town have become a matter of daily occurrence.
They are so frequent that we fear them any moment. Even if there is the slightest of wind, the electricity is off. This calls for immediate action by the authorities concerned It seems that the electric cables have become old and worn out. They must be replaced at once. The electricity department has levied many surcharges in recent months.
It is the duty of the WAPDA to see that the consumers get full service when they pay full dues. I should hope that the authorities would do everything possible to improve the existing state of affairs. Yours obediently, full name and address. A letter to the editor of a newspaper making an appeal to the readers to help the victims of flood
To The Editor,
The Newspaper,
City.
September 29,2013
Sir,
The recent floods have rendered thousands of people homeless. They have lost all they had. Most of them had no other source of income except the land they cultivated. They are now lyinc in camps in a miserable condition. They have no place to go and no means of livelihood.
Through the columns„of your esteemed paper, I request the readers to contribute as much as they can towards the Relief Fund started by the Government. We must thank God that we are safe. So we should be helpful to them. If we do not help them in their misery, who would .
Every one of us should send at least a day’s income to the Relief Fund. Let them not think for a moment that they are being neglected in their hour of need. They are our brethren and let as give the proof of our brotherhood by helping them. It is a passing phase and they will look after themselves when rehabilitated.
Yours obediently,.
Full name and address.
