A Dog and his Reflection 

Once a greedy dog went to a butcher’s shop and stole a big piece of meat and ran out of the town. He was hungry but he did not eat immediately. He wanted to eat it on reaching some lonely place. After a short lime he reached a stream of clear water with a narrow wooden bridge over it.

He began, to cross the bridge. Suddenly he looked into the stream and saw his reflection in the Clear water. But he was a foolish, greedy dog. He thought that it was another dog with a bigger piece of meal in his mouth. “Why not snatch that piece, too,” he thought, and barked fiercely.
 His meat fell into the stream. This made him more angry. He jumped into the stream to fight that dog. As soon as he hit the surface of the water, the other dog disappeared. He searched about madly till he was completely tired but he could find neither the dog nor the piece of meat.He had lost it .
Moral:Greed is curse

Three travellers and bag of gold

 










Once upon a time three travellers met on the road. They found that they had to go in the same direction. So they decided to travel togoher. They walked on, talking and laughing and in a short time became friends. On the way they passed through a forest. They were tired and the cool shade of the trees templed them. 
So they sat down under a big tree to relax. Suddenly, they saw something at a distance glittering in the sun. They hurried towards it, and found that it was a big metal box. They fored it open. There were some clothes and gold ornaments in it. They were naturally very excited and happy. They divided the ornaments equally among themselves and once again lay down on the grass. 
After some time they felt hungry. One of them offered to go to the nearby village and get food. When he had bought food, an idea came into his mind. Fie thought that he could get all the ornaments. He bought some poison, mixed it with food and went back to his companions.In his absence, the other two men conspired to kill him and get all the gold. Therefore, as soon as he returned they fell upon him and murdered him.
 They took his share of ornaments and divided it. Then they began to eat the food he had brought. They had not finished the meal when, crying with pain, they fell on the ground and died. 
Moral:Greed is curse 

Stag and his legs

Once a stag felt thirsty and went to a stream of water. As lie was drinking water, he saw his reflection in the clear stream. First he looked at his horns.

They were beautiful and strong, and they glittered under the strong sun. He was captivated by their beauty. He forgot his thirst and stood there admiring them.Then his eyes wandered to his legs. They appeared thin, weak and shaky. “What a pair of ugly legs I have!” he thought.He was absorbed in these thoughts, when he heard the barkingof hounds right at his back. 
With a start, he sprang up and ran for his life.Soon he was at a safe distance, and he hid himself in a bush. But his hounds had not lost his scent . They followed him and reached the bush. The slag jumped up but fell back. His antlers had been caught in the bush. He struggled very hard but to no avail. He cursed his horns, but that did not help. With a cry of triumph the hounds fell upon him and tore him to pieces.
Moral:
All glitters is not gold
