Ans:  Practically, mankind cannot be divided into two watertight compartments of hosts and guests. It is customary for the rich  to give and for the poor to receive. However, neither all guests are needy nor all hosts are rich. The writer acted more often as. guest than as host. When, at school, he once received a box of 12 sausage rolls which he ate himself alone in 3 days without letting his mess-mates share them. The host as guest is far worse then the guest as host. The guest shows meekness but j the host always shows domination, pride and egotism. The host never adjusts himself with others. He always leads the conversation. Again and again, the host working as guest wants to leave the place and go home.
The desire to be a host or a guest is restricted to man along inasmuch as animal species like to become neither guests nor hosts. Guests still fear to go to their hosts for fear of 1 being harmed. History shows hosts like Macbeth, Jael, Odysseus, the Borgias, etc., who killed their guests but it 1 cannot show any guest who killed his host. The English tend to be hosts while the French and the Italians like to be guests.-
