Ans: As a school boy, the writer often spent holidays with his grandfather and grandmother in Saligo.
The writer’s grandfather had a good: deal of pride and disliked his neighbours whereas his grandmother was gentle and patierit. She always helped the poor and the needy. When his .grandfather was asleep, she had a round of the house to make sure that-there was. no burglar. She was very affectionate towards the children. She once punished Yeats for some indecency. The punishment was that he was given his dinner in a room by himself. She was a true lover of her garden. She would choose some favourite among her flowers and copy it upon si rice-paper.
By comparing his grandfather-and grandmother, Yeats » shows that they were different, persons, but led a very harmonious life. They .respected and admired each other, and
the result was a happy family life.
