The annual sports day is an essential part of college education. It can never be neglected at any cost. Students go to . educational institution, sit tight in their respective classrooms for
hours together and visit the reading-room to collect materials for  their study. , Thus? they keep themselves busy all day with activities relating to study. Now they certainly need some diversion in their serious routine-work. It is true that study is the primary objective of the education, but all work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy, So co-curricula reactivities are provided to students to keep therm active all the time. There are athletics, dramas, debates, and So on,
Sports teaches Students the value of cooperation and team spirit. It helps,,them, work together.'Sports create ih them, a sense of fellow, feeling and helps them work together for a common interest. This is very much helpfulin their practical life. Sports develop, in them the spirit off, sportsmanship. The students taking part in games and .Sports acquire this spirit which enables them^o face the challenges of life. 
 In the annual sports day of our institution, the ground was particularly laid down; iyhite chalk powder lines Vi/ere drawn for different events. Victory stands were beautifully decorated to make the winners feel proud.-There were many events like races, jumps, throws, hop skip-jump, basketball, tennis, musical chairs, etc. There were obstacle and walking races too. The most popular were the marble and spoon in/th'e mouth and sack races. Races were also arranged for the'’staffteachers and parents. The participating students were divided according to age. Flags of different colours were fluttering al.l around the « ground. The sports commenced at 9 a.m Vyitljy drill and march past. The participants lined up before the start of. every event and they were cheered by the spectators.
The winners were given medals and cups. Unsuccessful contestants were given participation certificates. Our principal delivered the closing speech. Finally, our annual sports day was concluded with the final march past. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and returned hbme with three medals.
