Q: Is the essay Nagasaki still relevant today?

Ans: We get very dreadful impressions of nuclear warfare after reading this essay, and this essay "Nagasaki" is still relevant today Our soul shudders on reading the untold agonies, miseries, afflictions, destruction and ruthless slaughter of innocent creatures caused by the nuclear weapon. If the same lethal weapons are used again, the whole world would present the horrible spectacle of blazing inferno.

The earth win not be fit for human habitation. Man’s ancient heritage of art, culture, civilization, religion and centuries-old literature will be obliterated. Instead of seeing the beautiful panorama of life, the survivors will witness every place littered with dead bodies emitting foul smell; instead of seeing the lofty buildings, we shall see only the concrete and iron-skeletons telling a woeful tale of man’s destruction; instead of listening the sweet music of life, we shall be hearing the doleful cries, the pathetic shrieks and soul-harrowing wailing of innocent men, women and children.
This dreadful scenario of death and destruction is an appeal to the conscience of humanity against nuclear weapons that destroy the life and property on a very large scale that no amends are possible. Such lethal weapons are the destroyer of civilization built after centuries and razed to the ground within a short span of time.

It is for the survival of the human race that all the nations of the world should take preventive measures against the use of nuclear weapons and ensure and guarantee world peace and stability by settling their disputes and political differences through mutual understanding.

Besides the extinction of human race, human civilization, human creations, the destruction caused by the nuclear weapons will sap the fountainhead of fertility and usher in sterility and. barrenness everywhere. In case of all-out atomic war, the earth and environment will not be suitable for living purposes. If the bright future of mankind and succeeding posterity is to be saved from the barbaric darkness of
human mind, the nations of the world must work out Some  unfoguards not to resort to the use of  nuclear  weapons at all under any circumstances
